50 Websites To Post Your Real Estate Listings for FREE

If you’re anything like me, you can ALWAYS use another online platform to advertise your property listings — especially when that platform is FREE.

In this blog post, I’m going to show you 50 different websites you can use to put together a simple real estate listing and post it for thousands of new eyeballs to see.

As you’ll probably recognize, some of these websites are more established, some of them have a more targeted audience for real estate and some of them get significantly more traffic than others… so to keep it simple, I’m going to start with my current “Top 10” and follow with the rest of the websites that are currently operating on the internet.

Side Note: While it’s easy to assume that your property listings only belong on websites where tons of people are already there, I think it’s also important not to overlook the value of having your listings in front of many different audiences. Even when an advertising outlet is less-recognized or newer to the market, it could still be worth your while to post your property information there.

Remember, the goal is to get your listing in front of as many potential buyers as possible, and the buyers who browse on Website A may never think of browsing on Website B (or C, or D, or E). Since we can never know precisely where our next buyer will come from, it may be worth your consideration to look at what each of these options can bring to the table (and since none of these cost a dime, the only thing you stand to lose is your time).

1. Craigslist

When most people think of FREE online marketplaces, one of the first websites that comes to mind is Craigslist (and as one of the highest traffic websites in the world today, it’s no surprise why).

Craigslist has long been an ideal place to find buyers and sellers for all types of real estate — mainly because there are a lot of people taking part in every sub-category of this online platform.

Craigslist ads are very basic with no frills (which follows the same general theme of the website as a whole). As you can see from this screen shot — they’re nothing special, but they get the job done.

Even though Craigslist is clearly the winner in terms of traffic, it’s not necessarily the most versatile medium. There are plenty of restrictions in place (like the inability to link to third-party websites and embed videos), however with the tools that are available — it’s more than enough to inform buyers about what the property has to offer and drum up enough interest to generate some legitimate leads and sales.

In my opinion, Craigslist is a listing platform that is ALWAYS worthwhile to use (whether you’re selling as the owner or the agent). With the hundreds of millions of visitors the site gets each month, it’s pretty hard not to play on this platform.

2. Zillow

Zillow is another massive online platform designed specifically for the real estate crowd. Rather than serving the needs of many different types of buyers and sellers like Craigslist, this website is focused specifically on being the number one marketplace for buyers and sellers of real estate.

The great thing about Zillow is that it’s one of the few online real estate marketplaces that also allows property owners to post real estate listings For Sale By Owner for FREE… and this is actually kind of a big deal.

There are hundreds of millions of people passing through this site each month (with many of them coming from syndicated outlets like AOL, Yahoo, Trulia and more) and most of them are there with the sole purpose of looking for real estate to buy and rent. It’s also worth noting that many buyers start their search with Zillow (instead of looking only at their local MLS listings), so it’s a great way to gain exposure to a massive (and targeted) audience at no cost.

I actually think Zillow listings are some of the best when it comes to compiling the information. Not only do the listings look pretty good (aesthetically speaking), but they also come with a lot of supplemental data built-in with their various drop down items, which can help prospective buyers learn more of the story behind each listing.

My only real complaint with Zillow is with their video feature. While I’m certainly glad they provide ANY options to add video (unlike most of the free listing sites I’ve come across), I’m not a huge fan of their 2-minute self-shot video option. It’s not easy to show a property in it’s best light in under 2 minutes and/or by only using the camera in your pocket. It’s unfortunate that they don’t offer the ability to upload or embed a higher-quality, better-produced video. If they added this option, it would be a MAJOR improvement to their FSBO listing platform.

3. Backpage

Backpage is another free online marketplace that many people feel comfortable with because it clearly resembles the same look and feel of Craigslist. Unfortunately, Backpage only gets about 1% — 2% the amount of traffic that Craigslist does… but even though it doesn’t catch nearly as big of an audience, it’s still a reasonably notable website that could be worth a few extra minutes to copy and paste the information from the listings you’ve already posted elsewhere.

I actually have found a few buyers through this website in the past — so it hasn’t been a total waste of time, but I also wouldn’t plan on getting a tidal wave of phone calls and emails just because you posted your property here.

I have to admit — something I LOVE about Backpage is that their listings will allow you to insert links to third-party websites (e.g. — if you want to send people to your selling website, to a YouTube video, an HOA website or any other relevant piece of information, you can do it through this platform).

4. Connected Investors

If you’re a real estate investor, Connected Investors is a site you ought to know about. It’s a pretty sizable online community of like-minded people, and the site offers more than just networking opportunities, you can also list your properties for sale (as well as view properties for sale from other investors).

Since the vast majority of folks on this website are real estate investors — it’s important to recognize that people are here to make money from real estate… so the properties generally aren’t going to be priced absurdly high, but for investors who want to get in and squeeze some equity out of the deal.

Something I appreciate about the property listing platform on this site is that you can enter in A LOT of deal-specific details that real estate investors are going to care about, as explained in this video (e.g. — costs associated with owning the property, cash flow details, zoning and uses, etc.). I also really liked the ticking time clock at the top of each listing, as it helps instill a sense of urgency/scarcity for anyone who wants to take advantage of the deal.

This site probably isn’t the best fit for a one-time FSBO seller or a real estate agent targeting owner-occupied buyers, but if you’re targeting the real estate investing community at large (say, if you’re a wholesaler or a seller of turn-key rental properties) — it’s a great place to get some exposure to a very targeted audience.

5. ForSaleByOwner

ForSaleByOwner is one of the more well-known websites for property owners who want to sell their home without paying a commission to an agent. Ironically, both of their premium listing packages actually do involve third-party agents who get paid (either by the buyer or the seller) from the sale… however, I think the most notable part of this site is that it also offers a FREE 30-day listing option, and their ads are put together pretty nicely too.

Considering this website brings in millions of targeted visitors each month AND the listings are supposedly syndicated to appear on Redfin, HomeFinder and more, it may very well be worth your time and effort to upload your listing details to this website.

This site is a great fit for people selling to a targeted audience of real estate buyers. I appreciated their integration of video (i.e. — virtual tours) into their listings as well as the supplemental tools they offer to users. The site makes is very easy for buyers to search for properties as well — so it’s a great way to make your property information easily accessible to your prospects without getting lost in the shuffle of all the other listings out there.

6. Owners.com

Owners.com is a notable website for listing properties primarily because of its targeted audience for real estate buyers, along with some of the special promotion capabilities that come with the site.

This website gives sellers the option of listing their properties on the MLS for a flat fee (without signing a contract with a real estate agent). Granted — this extra feature isn’t free, but it’s a nice little premium tool that isn’t offered by most of the other platforms on this list — and considering what a HUGE additional audience the MLS represents, I thought it was worth pointing this out.

From what I’ve seen of this site, it’s easily one of the best designed and laid out websites, and it allows users to enter in a lot of helpful specifics and details about their property for sale. I also allows you to embed YouTube videos within each listing, which is a HUGE plus in my book. Here’s what their typical listing looks like…

This site is a great fit for people selling to a targeted audience of real estate buyers, and with the helpful features that their listing builder allows, I’d say it’s definitely one worth checking out.

7. Fizber

Fizber is another helpful website for listing properties, and it’s one of those key platforms with a targeted audience for real estate buyers.

Fizber also offers sellers the ability to list their properties on the MLS for a flat fee (without signing a contract with a real estate agent), which is another notable feature that most real estate listing sites don’t bring to the table.

My only real complaint with Fizber was that the site doesn’t allow sellers to list properties priced less than $25,000 (which seems like a random number to peg as the floor). For most sellers, this won’t be an issue — but if you’re selling something really cheap (like a $6,900 vacant lot), this pricing floor will obviously get in the way.

The listings on Fizber are pretty basic, and like most of the sites on this list — they’re geared towards properties with improvements. The site gets a respectable amount of traffic (given that it’s focused solely on the real estate crowd), but it’s not quite in the same ballpark as Zillow or Craigslist. Overall, it’s not a bad option to work with, especially if you’re interested in blasting your listings out to the MLS as well.

8. Oodle

From what I’ve seen, Oodle probably has the most streamlined process for posting a property for sale. You don’t have to navigate through page-after-page of details to post a property. Property sellers can fill out one simple submission form to get their entire listing compiled and posted in a matter of seconds (and it’s especially fast if you already have the listing information prepared and you’re just copying it from another source).

To be honest, I actually had a hard time with this site at first. For some reason, it was automatically flag and removing all of my listings almost immediately after posting… which was a little problematic. I’m still not sure why it was doing this — but I’m guessing it was because my listings were all for vacant land, and these properties typically don’t have a verifiable street address. That being said, if you can actually get your listings posted successfully — the ads do a good job of highlighting all the important details in a short amount of space.

Perhaps the most notable thing about Oodle is that these listings are supposedly syndicated with Redfin — so when you post a listing on Oodle, you’re also getting some notable exposure to another massive audience of real estate buyers.

Overall, I like how Oodle makes it pretty quick and simple to compile a listing, and the syndication with Redfin is another huge selling point for the site. Assuming you can get the site to keep your listing active without flagging and removing them (which was unfortunately a big obstacle for me), it’s a nice little outlet to get some additional exposure for your listings.

9. Asset Column

I had never heard of Asset Column until I really started searching hard for free real estate listing websites. When I finally found it, I was honestly surprised it had never come across my radar earlier. This platform is designed pretty well, the website as a whole looks great and it makes the process of putting together a listing very easy.

I liked some of the unique features of the site, like how it specifies the percentage below market value each property is priced at, and the easy and prominent social sharing buttons. All in all, it seems like a pretty nice platform to post real estate listings on.

Like most free listing sites, the format isn’t necessarily optimized for vacant land properties (like the kinds I typically sell), but it’s certainly possible to work within the parameters they give you (Pro Tip: On the first step when they ask for an address… you can also enter in the GPS coordinates of your property, in case it doesn’t have a registered address yet).

10. FindMyRoof

FindMyRoof does a pretty decent job of putting together a nice listing that gives all the basic details in an easy-to-follow format. It’s not a terribly complex process to create a listing, and the site doesn’t draw in a huge amount of traffic — but it is a relatively targeted audience of real estate buyers, which may make the site worth your time and consideration.

Two things I liked about this site was the fact that users are able to include YouTube videos with each listing AND link to outside websites (something I wish all listing websites would allow). Another unique feature is that FindMyRoof also allows visitors to click the “Flyer” button on each listing and generate a nice, printable version of each ad.

Still Looking for More?

Okay, now that we’ve covered my current “Top 10”, I realize some people may still be looking for even more places they can post their real estate listings for free… so with those folks in mind, I spent some time scouring the internet to find an extensive list of websites that will allow this functionality.

Before you try out any of these websites, let me be clear — I haven’t used all of these platforms and I’m not intimately familiar with how they work (including what kinds of people run them and/or what kinds of people peruse through them on a daily basis).

I’m not necessarily “endorsing” these websites or recommending that you use them, this is just a centralized list of what else is out there right now (note: this information was last updated as of mid-2017), so you can investigate them on your own and decide of they’re the right fit for you.

Here’s what I was able to find out on the inter-web (in no particular order)…

11. Kahping

Kahping makes it very easy to create real estate listings, add photos and highlight what the features and details are of each new listing (and it does a better job than some of the non-specialized websites like Craigslist and Backpage). The listings make pretty good use of space, giving users different tabs to click on and expand to see more information.

12. Sales Spider

Salespider.com is a free social network designed to help small to midsize businesses expand their networks, connect with contracting and supplier opportunities, post free classified ads and gain free access to sales leads and business opportunities. It’s supposedly one of the largest free social network for business owners and includes free sales leads and prospect lists, free classified ads, free business directory, and free business forums.

13. AdLandPro

AdLandPro allows users to post free classified ads, local classifieds and do free online promotions with online business ads or classified postings.

14. Yakaz

Yakaz is a search engine for all local classified ads. People use this site to buy and sell cars, housing, and a lot more.

15. USFreeAds

USFreeAds is another notable classified ad website that draws in hundreds of thousands of visitors each month. The design of the website isn’t entirely up-to-date, but that doesn’t mean it’s not getting plenty of attention. If you’re looking for some free exposure, this website could be worth checking out.

16. FreeClassifieds

FreeClassifieds is another free listing website you can use to sell pretty much anything. You can post free local classified ads and search free local classifieds as well.

17. WebClassifieds

WebClassifieds is another US-based classified ads website you can use to buy, sell or trade. Similar to the other classified ads websites, this is another catch-all platform that us used to sell all types of items.

18. Kedna

Kedna is a free classified ads site for placing free ads online with photos and videos for apartments for rent, cars, jobs and more.

19. AdsGlobe

AdsGlobe is an advertising gateway for online classifieds in jobs, real estate, rentals, autos, services, items for sale, travel, events, pets, business, and community.

20. Sell.com

As the name implies, the Sell.com marketplace is a giant online platform where you can sell just about anything. This is essentially a merchant advertising and e-commerce solution primarily geared towards electronics, pets, cars, computers, real estate and more. You can even set up your own store!

21. Hoobly

Hoobly is a pretty sizable classified ads platform that draws in millions of visitors per month. People use this site to sell arts, books, clothing, electronics, home and garden, pets, real estate, vehicles and more.

22. PennySaverUSA

PennySaverUSA is another run-of-the-mill classified ads site where you can browse and post free online listings, get coupons, and find other interesting deals.

23. Claz.org

The claim behind Claz.org is that you can search all classified ad sites at once. Given that you can also post ads for free, it’s probably worth checking out.

24. Recycler

Recycler is another online marketplace that connects buyer and sellers together at the local level. It’s an ideal platform for buying and selling cars, pets, real estate, jobs and more.

25. ClassifiedClan

ClassifiedClan refers to itself as “The Home of Free Classified Ads” — which means you can use the site to post free ads countrywide, statewide, and locally.

26. Geebo

Geebo is website where it’s easy to place ads and safer to search. As stated on their home page, their goal is to go the extra mile to help build, protect, and connect communities.

27. AmericanListed

AmericanListed provides millions of safe and local classifieds for jobs, rentals, pets, for sale, housing, real estate, cars, boats, services, events, clothing, furniture and motorcycles.

28. FreeAdsCity

FreeAdsCity is a free photo classifieds site that lets you post and browse classified ads under the categories of auto, real estate, pets, furniture, electronics and more.

29. FreeAdsTime

FreeAdsTime is a worldwide classified ads website where you can browse and post ads with a photo. Free classifieds can go under houses for rent, apartments for rent, roommates, local jobs, pets, vehicles, for sale items and other available categories.

30. BeatYourPrice

BeatYourPrice is another standard classified ads website where it’s free to browse and post listings, including categories such as art, electronics, jobs, real estate, jobs and more.

31. Loot

Loot is a pretty well-designed listing website where you can post free real estate ads and browse the site for other opportunities, such as jobs, cars, properties, pets, services and more.

32. EPage

EPage was one of the first “dot com” companies in the world, founded in 1994 as an “Internet only” business dedicated to providing the best classified and auction services to its customers. The EPage Network has now grown to over 850,000 monthly visitors and has displayed over 3 billion classified advertisements.

33. DomesticSale

DomesticSale is a place where you can post US-based online classified ads. Use this place to buy & sell autos, real estate or general merchandise.

34. Locanto

Locanto is a free, user-to-user local community classifieds site. You can use the site to post and search ads, to find a new place to live, buy a new car, find a job and much more.

35. AdPost

AdPost is another classified ad listing website that can be used to browse and sell all the major categories you’d expect to see on a classified ad website.

36. Kugli

Kugli is another free classified ads site and international business networking site. They have dedicated categories for dozens of different local and regional classified ads.

37. ClassifedsForFree

ClassifiedsForFree is exactly what it sounds like, a free, online platform where you can post classified ads. From what I saw, it wasn’t the most thoughtfully designed website, but it does pull in tens of thousands of monthly visitors… so there may be some benefit to getting your listings posted here.

38. Ablewise

Ablewise is one of the biggest business ads posting site that lets you post ads for free like, rentals, automobile, business opportunity, merchandise, services, employment and more.

39. BuySellCommunity

BuySellCommunity is an online community where you can buy and sell your stuff for free and/or open up your own online storefront.

40. House.Info

House.Info is one of the few websites on this extended list that is focused specifically on real estate. The site features thousands of listings in brings in a fair amount of monthly visitors — so this one could be of interest for the specific purpose of posting your properties for sale.

41. Gold Classifieds

GoldClassifieds provides free online classifieds, free online advertising services, including free online classified ads posting and searching. This website is available for Global users.

42. AdFreePosting

AdFreePosting is another classified ad listing website that can be used to browse and sell all the major categories you’d expect to see on a classified ad website.

43. FreeToClassifieds

FreeToClassifieds appears to be a pretty basic listing website, but it could do the trick. This platform will allow you to publish real estate listings without an account.

44. TopClassifieds

TopClassifieds is another basic classified listing site. Nothing particularly special about it — just another platform to get some extra exposure for your listings.

45. AdsKeep

AdsKeep is another basic (and fairly unsophisticated) classified listing site. This site has several real estate related categories and could be a good place to connect with buyers and sellers.

46. SuperAds

SuperAds is a pretty self-explanatory classified ads website. If you know how to use Craigslist, you should be able to figure this one out pretty easily.

47. Global Free Classified Ads

As the name implies, Global Free Classified Ads features listings from all over the world, so it’s not the most centralized place to connect with local buyers and sellers. However, if you’re looking for more of a global audience, it could be a good fit.

48. 10DayAds

10DayAds is a free classified ads website for selling new or used items and listing your business in the USA or worldwide so that you can reach millions of buyers to sell your stuff. There is a real estate category available, along with all the other, standard categories you’d expect to see on a website such as this.

49. HouseList

HouseList has a fairly small audience and the website doesn’t have the freshest design or layout, but it’s an audience specifically targeted in the real estate space — so it could be a great place to post your free listing.

50. BuyandSell

BuyandSell was is a free listing site that was launched in 2005 in Toronto, Canada. The site serves users across over 190 countries and 6 continents and it is focused on accelerating trade between buyers and sellers in every market across the globe.

51. ClassifiedAds.com (BONUS!)

ClassifiedAds.com is another free listing website with a similar look and feel to Craigslist and Backpage. You aren’t required to maintain an account here, and the ads on this site also come with a nice little inquiry form at the bottom of each listing — so it’s one less step for an interested party to contact the seller for more information. The listings also allow sellers to link to third-party websites, which is a nice little extra feature you can use to send extra traffic to your selling website.

The Value of Free

At the end of the day, I think the ability to advertise your properties to anybody (even if it’s just a small handful of people) without paying any fee whatsoever, is always worth something.

Granted, some of the outlets mentioned above are clearly going to generate more results than others (from a simple time investment and traffic generation standpoint), but if you’re on a shoestring budget and/or you just hate the idea of spending money, hopefully these options will give you someplace to turn.

I think there’s always is a little bit of “luck” that comes into play with finding the right buyer at the right time, and the best way to increase your luck is to get your property information in front of as many eligible buyers as possible.
